The world witnessed a truly remarkable event when France initiated a groundbreaking Olympic opening ceremony, taking it out of a traditional stadium for the first time. With the Paris Olympics fever at its peak, Snoop Dogg turned up among one of the 11,000 torchbearers to bring the flames to the final stage. Walking through the streets of Saint-Denis, the American rapper seemed all excited and pumped up. With the blazing flame in his hand and golden trainers on his feet, Snoop Dogg truly sprinkled some celebrity magic during the Torch Relay in Paris ahead of the opening ceremony.
The final relay passed through the Stade de France Olympic Stadium, the canal that links Saint-Denis with the city, and the Olympic Aquatic Center before finally reaching the Seine River. In pictures and videos shared by the official social media handle of the 2024 Paris Olympics, the 52-year-old hip-hop legend could be seen dancing his way through the relay and enjoying it all. He even blew kisses to the fans and waved his hands.
A video of Snoop’s moment of enjoyment shows him pumping up the crowd, dressed from head-to-toe for his starring role. “Snoooooop. The Torch is in safe hands,” the caption read.

In another bunch of pictures, one can see his goofy side as the happiest torch bearer. “The crossover we didn’t know we needed,” read the post. Notably, Snoop was among the final torchbearers before the cauldron was eventually ignited to officially open the Olympic Games 2024.

Earlier this year, local mayor Mathieu Hanotin confirmed his participation, thus leading to a huge crowd that came out to catch a glimpse of the rapper.
Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg will be a larger part of the entire event as he joins as a special correspondent for US broadcaster NBC. He is expected to deliver regular updates from the site. Looking forward to bringing his unique flair to the coverage, he said in a statement, “I grew up watching the Olympics and am thrilled to see the incredible athletes bring their A-game to Paris. It’s a celebration of skill, dedication, and the pursuit of greatness.”
Snoop also expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of the prestigious event and promised to be on his best behavior. “I look at this as a prestigious honour and something I truly respect. I would have never dreamed of anything like this. I’m going to be on my best behavior. I’m going to have my best athleticism. I’ll be able to breathe slowly, walk fast, and hold the torch with a smile on my face because I realize how prestigious this event is,” AP quoted him as saying earlier this week.
