Sharvari Reveals 'Munjya' Wasn't Well-Known In the Industry; Calls Its Success A 'Dream Come True'
In a recent interview, Sharvari Wagh described 'Munjya's' success as a "dream come true," highlighting how the film's impressive performance defied expectations despite its modest budget.

Sharvari Wagh is basking in the success of her recent hit ‘Munjya’, which has crossed the impressive Rs 100 crore mark at the box office. As she enjoys this career milestone, the talented actress is already looking ahead to her next big venture, ‘Alpha’, where she will share the screen with Alia Bhatt. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Sharvari opened up about the unexpected triumph of ‘Munjya’, a film made on a modest budget featuring a cast of relatively unknown talent, and how its success has been a pleasant surprise for her and the entire team.

Describing it as a “dream come true,” she explained, “It was not that film that the whole industry knew about.” She added that the box office numbers reflect how much audiences embraced the film, saying, “Box office is the fact that people came to watch that film and people loved the film.”

Speaking about how ‘Munjya’ defied industry expectations, Sharvari expressed her gratitude, saying, “Firstly, I am very very grateful. Jab humne ‘Munjya’ banayi bhi thi, it was not that film that the whole industry knew about. It was not that film that I made this huge announcement. Nothing of that sort happened for that film. It was purely a film that producer Dinesh Vijan just believed in and he said ‘I am going to back this film and I am going to back the talent that is around in this film’.”

For Sharvari, the film’s unexpected success was particularly meaningful as she reflected on the entire cast and crew being underdogs. She added, “Everybody was an underdog in that film. I don’t think people knew us at that point. Be it Abhay, be it the director, me. I had done one film but my film had not done the biggest numbers, so not a lot of people knew me from that. We were all relatively new in that space. So that film to become successful is such a big hope. It’s such a big dream come true for me and for the whole cast and crew of ‘Munjya’.”

Sharvari is now preparing for ‘Alpha’, a highly anticipated film within the YRF Spy Universe. The project, which will feature Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in lead roles, has already created buzz, with the actresses recently spotted filming in Kashmir. Directed by Shiv Rawail and produced by Aditya Chopra, the film will also star Bobby Deol as the antagonist and is rumored to include veteran actor Anil Kapoor in a key role.
