Shah Rukh Khan Recalls His Debut Dream Of 6-Pack Abs And A Lady By His Side: 'I Was An Athlete'
In a recent interview, Shah Rukh Khan opened up about one of his earliest ambitions when he first entered the film industry—dreaming of sporting 6-pack abs and having a leading lady by his side.

Shah Rukh Khan, the global Bollywood icon, continues to redefine his craft, captivating audiences with every role he takes on. Known for his incredible versatility, SRK recently embraced a new challenge in ‘Jawan’, stepping into the shoes of an action hero— a role that not only thrilled his fans but also showcased his ability to excel in any genre. In a candid chat with The Guardian, Khan opened up about how portraying an action hero in ‘Jawan’ was the fulfillment of a long-held dream from when he first entered the industry.

Reflecting on this journey, SRK shared, “When I started in the industry, I was an athlete. My life’s dream was to have a six-pack, wear a white vest, have a lady by my side, blood on my face, and a gun in my hand. I dreamed of walking into a room, being asked ‘Who are you?’ and then just shooting them.”

During the pandemic, with limited activities available, Khan focused on fitness, encouraging others to try new things like Italian cooking and regular exercise. He took his own advice to heart, dedicating time to building his physique for the role. The ‘Jawan’ star revealed that he typically “eats only one meal a day,” a personal habit unrelated to trends like intermittent fasting, and commits around half an hour daily to his workouts.

SRK also shared insights into his unique routine, explaining that he usually goes to bed around 5 am, just as Mark Wahlberg is starting his day. On shooting days, he wakes up around 9 or 10 am, and after returning home at 2 am, he unwinds with a bath and a workout before calling it a night.

Shah Rukh Khan was recently celebrated at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland, where he was honored with the prestigious Pardo Alla Carriera Award. The accolade was bestowed upon the Bollywood icon in recognition of his immense contributions to cinema. Shah Rukh made a special trip to Switzerland to accept this honor, marking a significant moment in his illustrious career.

During the festival, King Khan also engaged in a live session, where he confirmed his involvement in Sujoy Ghosh’s upcoming film ‘King’. Reflecting on the challenges of action films, Shah Rukh shared that he will be undergoing a weight loss regimen to prepare for the demanding action sequences. “Action is difficult, you have to practice it learn it and there are doubles doing some of the dangerous stunts. I have some wonderful guys. But 80% you have to finally do it yourself if you have to sell it truthfully. Otherwise, it doesn’t look right,” he explained.

He humorously added that while he might look cool on screen, the reality of being tied up and sore after filming is far from glamorous, “The next film I’m doing, King, I have to start working on my film King. Have to lose some weight a little, stretch a little so my groin doesn’t get caught while doing action. It is painful. It’s the worst thing to see me on sets after action because I look really cool in the film but I’m all tied up and suddenly you see people and send flying kisses.”
