Randeep Hooda is currently enjoying the success of his recently released movie, Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. However, do you know the actor the actor sold some of his properties to make this movie? In a recent interview, Randeep talked about the financial struggles he faced while making Swatantrya Veer Savarkar and revealed that he had to sell his Mumbai flats to fund the movie. However, the actor also clarified that the box office success of the film has helped him recover the money he invested.
“Thankfully, we have been able to make enough money. We’ve made it back and some more. We are in plus and have managed to break even. I now joke with my dad asking him to buy more properties so that I could sell them for my next film. Agli picture mein kaam ayega (We will mortgage it when I am making my next film),” Randeep told Bollywood Bubble.
The 47-year-old actor further revealed that even though everyone had warned him against putting his own money into the film, he decided to take his father’s help when no other option was left.
“My father has been trying to save all the money for me because I’m a bit open-handed. He was scared that I would lose all my money on fast women and slow horses. So, he started saving on my behalf and bought a couple of flats in Mumbai,” Randeep added.
Released on March 22, Swatantra Veer Savarkar starred Randeep Hooda, Ankita Lokhande, Amit Sial, Apinderdeep Singh and Mark Bennington among others. The film was based on Vinayak Damodar Savarkar and his contribution during the Indian Independence struggle. It earned over Rs 30 crore at the Indian box office.
