Gurgaon: Bollywood's heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor hopes that being in the company of poetry lovers Irshad Kamil and Imtiaz Ali, with whom he is working on in new movie 'Tamasha', teaches him a thing or two about the art form.
"Poetry is something that you have to understand. It is not easy. You can read poetry, but there are so many deeper meanings attached to it. I'm working with Imtiaz in 'Tamasha', which has a lot to do with storytelling and poetry. So I hope to understand it more," the actor told IANS in a group interview at an event held here Friday.
For getting a grip over the art of poetry, Ranbir said he is spending time in the recording studio with lyricist Irshad Kamil and music maestro A.R. Rahman.
"We always debate over what is more important -- music or words. But I think without words there is no soul," the actor added.
Ranbir launched Irshad's book Friday. After 'Rockstar', the trio have teamed up again for 'Tamasha'.
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old is ready to treat his fans with movies like "Roy", "Bombay Velvet" and "Jagga Jasoos" this year.
