Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated directorial Lal Salaam has finally been released today, February 9. Ever since its announcement, the sports thriller has been making headlines for various reasons with the primary one being the superstar’s extended cameo in the film. The early response by the audience hints at the favourable response to the film. However, Aishwaryaa’s magnum opus is struggling in the Telugu circuits.
Unlike Rajinikanth’s previous release Jailer that collected Rs 47 crore from the Telugu audience, making it the 3rd highest grossing dubbed movie in Telugu, Lal Salaam couldn’t get the same momentum, resulting in the cancellation of first day, first shows owing to lackluster occupancy. As per a report by 123telugu.com, FDFS shows have been cancelled across several centers and those who had booked the tickets in advance have been refunded.
Coming back to Lal Salaam, the film also stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead alongside Dhanya Balakrishnan, Vivek Prasanna and KS Ravi Kumar, apart from Rajinikanth. The film’s musical compositions have been done by AR Rahman. Reportedly, Lal Salaam’s theme revolves around spreading the message of harmony.
Amidst the controversy and the film’s release, Rajinikanth extended his best wishes to Aishwarya praying that her daughter’s film would turn out to be a “huge success”. The Jailer actor dropped a picture with Aishwaryaa on X in which the superstar was captured sitting in a wheelchair in a quintessential Rajinikanth style. Flashing a smile, he cupped his daughter’s face affectionately in the picture. Accompanying the picture was a heartwarming note that read, “My anbu salaam to my beloved mother Aishwarya. I pray to the almighty that your movie Lal Salaam will be a huge success.”
Meanwhile, Aishwaryaa’s ex-husband and actor Dhanush also gave a shoutout to the film on its release date. On his X handle, he wrote, “Lal Salaam from today.” Meanwhile, fans are gripped with enthusiasm as they are flocking to their nearby theatres to witness Thalaiva making a grand appearance in the film.
