Orry Shoots For Ad Film With Karan Johar: ‘What A Long Way I Have Come’

Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, the social media sensation, has made his acting debut, all thanks to Karan Johar. The footwear brand Crocs has chosen Orry and Karan as their new brand ambassadors, and they recently filmed Orry’s first ad together. In a recent interview, Orry shared his excitement about venturing into acting, acknowledging that while he isn’t an actor, he’s come a long way from creating reels to starring in a commercial. He also expressed his enthusiasm about being launched alongside Karan and spoke about the bond they share.

Sharing his experience, Orry said, “I am not an actor. People think, oh, Orry acts. But no, he does not. I’ve just completed one year of video this coming September 24. That’s my one year anniversary from the first reel I ever shot. It took eight hours to shoot a 60-second reel and look at what a long way I have come,” as quoted by Hindustan Times.

Orry remarked that while he was friendly with Karan Johar in real life, working with him was like a dream come true. Orry also admitted that he was nervous before the filming and worried about messing up. “I was nervous, I was anxious. Most people want a Karan Johar launch and here I am being launched with Karan Johar, you can’t mess this up. I wasn’t a friend on set, I was a fellow actor, a junior, junior actor,” he said.

Additionally, Orry shared that his real-life bond with Karan Johar played a significant role during the shoot, making it feel like they were simply having a conversation off-camera. However, he admitted that while their chemistry translated well on screen, it wasn’t without its challenges. Orry praised Karan for his expertise, noting that the director knows all his lines perfectly and can nail a scene in a single take. Orry also emphasised, “When it comes to sets, I am very professional towards Karan because that is my way of respecting him.”

The new Crocs ad film showcases Karan Johar and Orry creating their own personalized footwear, incorporating elements that reflect their unique personalities. Orry, a well-known social media influencer with close ties to several Bollywood celebrities, steps into the spotlight alongside Karan. Meanwhile, Karan Johar is occupied with promoting his upcoming production, Call Me Bae.
