Munjya Star Abhay Verma On Working with Shah Rukh Khan In King: 'I Have Never Been So Nervous'
Munjya Fame Abhay Verma reacted to working alongside Shah Rukh Khan in King.

Abhay Verma, who gained popularity with his role in the horror-comedy ‘Munjya’ alongside Sharvari, is reportedly set to join the cast of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming action-thriller, ‘King’, directed by Sujoy Ghosh. Following the success of ‘Munjya’, Pinkvilla had reported that Abhay would be playing a pivotal role in the much-anticipated film. Recently, for the first time, Abhay addressed these rumours about his involvement in the project.

In a conversation with Popdiaries, Abhay was asked how he landed the part in ‘King’ alongside Shah Rukh Khan. With a smile, the ‘Munjya’ actor initially evaded the question, saying it wasn’t the right time or place to discuss the details. However, when pressed further, he expressed his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan, saying he has “idolized” him not only as an actor but also as a person. He added with a smile, “Whatever we have heard about the rumors of whatever is going to happen, I hope that happens (smiles).”

Abhay went on to admit that he has never been so nervous in his life and wishes he could share more about the project. “Honestly, I have never been so nervous in life. I wish I could tell the world that ‘This is happening’, ‘Yeh main kar raha hoon (I’m doing this)’, etc. I am so sorry, but abhi zyada kuch batane ke liye nahin hai(There is nothing much to tell about),” he added.

The actor also shared that he believes in surprises, revealing that he didn’t inform his family about ‘Munjya’ until six months into the project while he was still preparing for the role. According to sources close to the production, the script for ‘King’ has been finalized, and filming is expected to begin in November 2024.

‘King’, one of Shah Rukh Khan’s most awaited films, will also feature Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan in significant roles. The movie is set to showcase King Khan in a raw and rugged action avatar, exploring a mentor-protégé relationship between SRK and Suhana Khan’s characters, as they confront the antagonist played by Abhishek Bachchan.

The film’s music and background score are being composed by Anirudh, and the team has brought in top talent from across the industry to design the action sequences, promising an exhilarating cinematic experience.
