Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film SSMB29 directed by SS Rajamouli is undoubtedly one of the much anticipated films. The audience has been eagerly looking forward to this film since its inception. SSMB29’s scriptwriter Vijayendra Prasad has now given an interesting update related to this film in a press conference.
Prasad said that the film’s shooting will commence in January 2025. Sri Durga Arts has backed this film. An earlier report by the Hindustan Times claimed that Mahesh Babu is likely to begin shooting for Rajamouli’s film either in August or September this year. The portal also claimed that the 49-year-old actor is currently attending workshops to prepare for his role in SSMB 29.
Currently, SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu have not yet disclosed the title of their film. They have also been tight-lipped about the film’s plot. However, the RRR filmmaker was in Japan in April 2024 when he shed a little light on the film’s status and told fans that he has started his next film. According to Rajamouli, the film’s writing has been completed and it is in the pre-production process. He also added that the SSMB29’s casting has not been finished yet. He said that the protagonist of the film, ie- Telugu actor Mahesh Babu is locked. At this point, many people started hooting. The director said that it looked like many of the people already knew him. According to the RRR filmmaker, Mahesh Babu is very handsome and hoped that SSMB29’s shooting would be finished a little bit faster.
Meanwhile, several unverified reports point out that SSMB29 will be India’s Indiana Jones. According to the reports, Mahesh Babu’s character in the film is inspired by Lord Hanuman. Even though reportedly this film will be set in an African jungle, Mahesh’s character will possess traits similar to Lord Hanuman. The Lord is renowned for his valour and determination while facing challenges in the jungles. The scriptwriter Vijayendra Prasad has revealed that the makers will be roping in Hollywood actors for the SSMB29.
As per reports, Prithviraj Sukumaran will play the antagonist in the film.
