The movie Lover marks the directorial debut of Prabhuram Vyas, featuring a cast including Manikandan, Sri Gouri Priya, Kanna Ravi, Harini, Nikila, Harish, and more. The music release for Lover, set to premiere on February 9, took place in Chennai. The event saw the presence of directors Ranjith Jayakody, Vinayak, distributor Sakthivelan, and the film’s crew.
Distributor Sakthivelan expressed his thoughts, mentioning the success of the team’s previous film, Good Night. Several distributors sought to secure the rights for Lover after the news about Inder surfaced. Despite requests for commercialisation, the producers assured that the film would be released through Shakti Film Factory. Sakthivelan praised the movie after watching it, emphasising Inder’s impactful performance and predicting that Lover could surpass the success of Love Today and set a new record.
Producer Maheshraj Baslian shared insights into the decision-making process, recalling that during the shooting of Good Night, director Prabhuram discussed the film’s story. Maheshraj said that Yuvraj, his mentor in the film industry, would make the final decision. He recounted his introduction to Yuvraj in 2015 during the design phase for Superstar Rajinikanth’s film, and since then, they have collaborated. With their second film releasing alongside Superstar Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam, Maheshraj sees it as a blessing.
Actress Sri Gouri Priya expressed the significance of Lover in her film career, revealing that she agreed to act in the film during a difficult time after her mother’s passing. The film’s crew played a crucial role in lifting her spirits and helping her through that challenging period, for which she extended heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved.
Director Prabhuram Vyas shared the journey of bringing the story to life, mentioning that he and Manikandan approached several film companies. A turning point came during the shooting of “Good Night” when Manikandan shared the story with the producer, leading to an emotional response and a meeting with producer Yuvraj Ganesan. That encounter marked the beginning of the work on Lover.
Actor Manikandan expressed his appreciation for director Prabhuram Vyas and the producers, highlighting their support for maintaining the film’s unique plot without insisting on commercial elements. He commended heroine Gauri Priya’s professionalism on set and praised the entire cast for approaching their roles with the mindset of creating a hit film. Manikandan confidently stated that the movie will not disappoint the audience.
Shreyas Krishna handles the cinematography, Shawn Roldan is the music composer, and Bharat Vikraman manages the editing. Rajkamal serves as the art director, and the romantic film is produced by Nasareth Baslian, Maheshraj Baslian, and Yuvraj Ganesan under Million Dollar Studios and MRB Entertainments.
