Kannada Actor-anchor Aparna Vastarey's Final Rites Held In Bengaluru
As per revelation by Aparna Vastarey's husband Nagaraj, she was in the fourth stage of cancer.

Aparna Vastarey, prominent Kannada actor and anchor, died on July 11 after a two-year battle with lung cancer at the age of 57. As per reports, Aparna’s last rites were performed as per the Brahmin tradition and her cremation took place at the electric crematorium in Banashankari, in Bengaluru. Aparna’s husband Nagaraj Vasthare performed her last rites. Her family members, colleagues Raghavendra Rajkumar, Ramesh Aravind, director S Narayan, Mandya Ramesh, senior actor Doddanna and fans were present at the funeral. Show Majaa Talkies team, in which Aparna was one of the actresses, was also present at her last rites. Aparna’s friends Singers Sunita Murali and BR Chaya sang a song for her late friend, titled Yava Mohana Murali from the Kannada film America America. As per the revelation by Aparna’s husband Nagaraj, she was in the fourth stage of cancer.

Aparna was a presenter of various programs that aired on DD Chandana in the 1990s. Before marking her presence as a presenter on Kannada television, Aparna made her feature film debut in SR Puttana Kanagal’s film Masanada Hoovu in 1984. It stars Jayanthi, Ambareesh, Hema Chaudhari and Aparna in the lead roles. After this, she acted in a series of films like Sangrama, Nammoora Raja, Sahasa Veera, Mathru Vathsalya and Olavina Asare. She also acted in the films Inspector Vikram, Ondaagi Balu, Doctor Krishna and others.

After acting in a bunch of average and semi-hit films, she stepped in as a television presenter with DD Chandana in 1990. She was a sought-after presenter by many productions until 2000. As per media reports, she was so engaged in her profession that she once created a record by presenting shows for eight hours at a stretch. It was part of the Diwali celebrations in 1998.

In her career trajectory, Aparna Vastarey also ventured into the profession of Radio Jockey (RJ) with All India Radio in 1993. She went on to work with AIR FM Rainbow as its first presenter. Her voice on the radio and spontaneity, while anchoring the show, was so loved that Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation recorded her voice. The voice was used for the announcements of passenger-boarding and deboarding for the Bengaluru Metro.
