Kangana Ranaut is currently promoting her upcoming film Emergency and she’s revealing some juicy details. The outspoken actress recently revealed that she has turned down films with big names like Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor. She even said no to Sanjay Leela Bhansali when he offered her a dance number. But it doesn’t stop there — Kangana also shared that Akshay Kumar offered her several films, which she also turned down.
In a recent chat with NBT Entertainment, Kangana revealed that when Akshay called her for Singh Is Bliing, she politely declined. When he asked why, she said, “I said please understand you also have a daughter. We want integrity for women.”
Recalling why she declined the offer, “Akshay Kumar called me for Singh Is Bliing. Then he called me again for a couple of films. Then he asked ‘do you have a problem with me Kangana?’ I said ‘sir, I really don’t have a problem with you’. He asked ‘then why? I am giving you such good roles’. I said ‘please understand, you also have a daughter. We want integrity for women’.”
In the same conversation, she explained that films starring these actors often follow a template where women are limited to just a few scenes and a couple of songs, and she wasn’t interested in playing such roles.
“I refused Khan-led films. All Khans are very nice to me, they are very kind to me, and they have never misbehaved with me. Yes, there are people who have misbehaved with me but Khans were not one of them. But I said no to their films because their films are prototypes wherein the heroine will have two scenes and one song. So I said I don’t want to do that. I want to be an example of a woman who is an A-lister, the top-most actor who has not worked with Khans,” Kangana had said.
Kangana Ranaut, who is also the BJP MP from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, will be next seen in her directorial, Emergency.
