Kalki 2898 AD To Re-Release In Russia As Part Of Prabhas' Birthday Celebration
Due to its popularity abroad, Kalki 2898 AD makers have decided to dub the film for Russian viewers and it is set to re-release on November 1.

Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi hit, Kalki 2898 AD, featuring superstar Prabhas, has captured the hearts of both Indian and international audiences. Due to its popularity abroad, the filmmakers have decided to dub the movie for Russian viewers and re-release the movie. The special release is part of Prabhas’ birthday celebration, which is on October 23. Interestingly, other than Kalki, several of his earlier films will also return to theatres on the Baahubali star’s special day. According to Pinkvilla reports, Kalki 2898 AD is set to hit Russian theatres again on November 1.

Other than Russia, the movie is also set to release in Japan and China in the upcoming months. The film was recently shown at the Busan International Film Festival, where producers Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt represented the movie. During the event, Priyanka discussed the future of the Kalki franchise and shared exciting details about its sequel. She also admired the director for his creative vision and spoke about his ambitious plans for the next instalment.

Speaking with Variety, she said, “We’re definitely smarter than the last one. We know the world better. We’ll know the production better. We’ve already identified CG companies and stuff. The script is almost kind of locked, and we’ve shot 35% of the film already, so we’ll be much faster. We trust Nag Ashwin a lot. He said, ‘Let’s climb a mountain.’ And we said, all in, let’s do it. He’s one of those very few filmmakers who contribute so much to cinema, who’s extremely honest in filmmaking. He doesn’t think about anything except cinema while he’s making it. So it’s pure trust. It’s pure trust on him and the story he narrated. Cinema itself is a gamble, so we are in it for a bigger gamble.”

Priyanka Dutt added, “Primarily, I think with this setup, it’s these two parts, and then the spin-offs on what his head is spinning right now, only Nag Ashwin can tell us. He’s created a world. There could be a lot of series, there could be animation, there could be comic books. There’s clearly a world, which is going to happen soon.”

Kalki 2898 AD tells the story of Bhairava, a mysterious warrior, played by Prabhas, who crosses paths with Amitabh Bachchan’s character Ashwatthama, an immortal figure from Mahabharat era. Deepika Padukone plays Sumathi, a crucial character who is pregnant with the unborn Kalki, the avatar of Vishnu. Kamal Haasan plays the main antagonist, Supreme Yaskin.
