Jackie Shroff is celebrating a milestone of his 1985 film, Teri Meherbaniyan. As the Vijay Reddy directorial clocked 39 years in the Hindi film industry on Friday, the veteran actor celebrated the moment with a special tribute on Instagram. Jackie Shroff took to his Instagram stories and shared a video collage with clips from the 80s classic.
It includes some memorable scenes, including the actor’s intense dialogue delivery and moments with his on-screen pet dog, Brownie. The title song of the film plays in the background, sending fans on a nostalgic journey. “#39YearsOfTeriMeherbaniyan,” Jackie Shroff wrote in a message.
Reacting to the post, actress Poonam Dhillon also reshared the video on her stories and wrote, “Time to revisit Teri Meherbaniya.” It is worth mentioning that Dhillon played the lead actress in the 1985 film opposite Jackie Shroff.
Directed by Vijay Reddy, the film tells the story of a good-hearted young man, Ram (Jackie Shroff), who comes across the actions of a corrupt Thakur Vijay Singh. Ram vows to help the villagers by fighting against the malpractices of Thakur and his cronies. During this time, he meets Bijli (Poonam Dhillon) and falls in love with her. The film’s central figures are not the actors but his adopted dog Moti, who pays off his owner by taking revenge on Ram’s murderers. The film contains some emotional moments between Ram and Moti, capturing the essence of Ram’s pain and Moti’s faithfulness. Amrish Puri played the lead antagonist Thakur Vijay Singh.
