The makers of ‘Khel Khel Mein’, featuring Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, Pragya Jaiswal and Fardeen Khan, have preponed the release date of the multi-starrer. The film, which was originally set to hit the theatres in September, will now release in cinemas this Independence day, 15th August. Interestingly, the film will clash with Allu Arjun’s highly anticipated movie Pushpa 2 at the box office.
Helmed by Mudassar Aziz, the comedy-drama promises a perfect blend of humour and emotion. The film will also see Akshay reuniting with his Bell Bottom (2021) co-star Vaani Kapoor, as well as his Naam Shabana (2017) and Mission Mangal (2019) co-star Taapsee Pannu. Co-produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vipul D Shah,Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl, Shashikant Sinha, and Ajay Rai, Khel Khel Mein aims to redefine the comedy-drama genre, offering a rollercoaster ride of emotions that transcends the ordinary.
Sharing the news on X, the official handle of T-Series posted: “This Independence Day, step into a mad world of laughter, drama and loads of fun! Mark your calendars for August 15, 2024 when #KhelKhelMein hits the theatres.”

Meanwhile, earlier this year, T-Series took to its social media handles to announce that the film would be releasing on 15th August. The company captioned its post as, “Let the #PushpaMassJaathara begin (explosion emoji) The Most Awaited #Pushpa2TheRuleTeaser out on April 8th (love and fire emojis). He is coming with double the fire (fire emojis) #Pushpa2TheRule Grand Release Worldwide on 15th Aug 2024.”
However, there have been reports doing the rounds that the audience may have to wait a little longer to witness Pushpa 2 on the big screen. According to Telugu 360, the shoot of Pushpa 2: The Rule was supposed to end by June but now the team would need a month more to wrap up as director Sukumar redesigned some of the portions of the film and they’re planning to shoot them again.
