As per previous interviews of the actress, Radhika had never planned to join the entertainment industry. The actress once claimed that she accidentally came into movies.

“I didn’t look like an actor, I was not brought up as one- I was in hostels most of my life, I was travelling. I came accidentally into movies,” she said as quoted by The News Minute. It was director Bharathiraja who approached the actress for a role in his movie. The movie turned her into a celebrity overnight and before she could understand the rising fame, the actress signed the successive films.

Radhika married actor and politician R Sarathkumar in 2001.
