Emergency Trailer: Kangana Ranaut Turns Indira Gandhi To Unveil The 'Darkest Chapter' In Country's History

Emergency Trailer: The trailer of Kangana Ranaut starrer Emergency is finally out. On Wednesday, the actress shared the trailer on her Instagram story and left everyone excited for the film. The film, which is set in 1975 India, revolves around the time when an emergency was imposed in the country. In the political drama, Kangana is seen playing the role of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Besides Kangana, Emergency also stars Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry and Shreyas Talpade among others. While Shreyas Talpade will be seen playing the role of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Anupam Kher will be seen as Jayaprakash Narayan. Late actor Satish Kaushik will also be seen as Former Deputy Prime Minister of India, Jagjivan Ram.

The trailer of Emergency has left netizens excited for the film. Several fans reacted to it and shared that they “cannot wait to watch” it. “Kangana is back,” one of the fans wrote. “Blockbuster in loading,” added another. Watch the trailer here:

Kangana Ranaut announced Emergency in 2021 but later clarified that even though it is a political drama, it is not Indira Gandhi’s biopic. The actress is not just playing the lead in the film but is also directing it.

Earlier today, Kangana penned down a long note on her Instagram handle and talked about being a filmmaker with Emergency. “From the conception of the idea to see the film on the big screen, nothing is more gratifying than being a filmmaker. Today is a very special day, on the trailer launch of my directorial Emergency the journey of Emergency from me to you begins. I can’t be happier a piece of me will live in the world long after I am gone. Happy to extend myself to you all, waiting to be a part of you all, nothing is more intimate than telling a story. Nothing is more intimate than letting audience enter your mind and emotions and share your perception with them. Welcome to my world as a storyteller,” she wrote.
