Over the past months, American popstar Britney Spears’ memoir “The Woman In Me” and the shocking revelations about her relationship with Justin Timberlake have been hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons. After Spears revealed having an abortion because of Timberlake, it created quite a stir among fans, leading the Selfish singer to face a massive backlash from fans. Amid all of this, Britney Speaks has now come forward, showing her support for Timberlake’s musical comeback, and she seems to have apologised to him in a veiled manner.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, which is now private, Britney shared a video of her ex-boyfriend singing his songs with Jimmy Fallon on NBC’s Saturday Night Live programme. While the post got fans’ attention, it was the following caption that got them more interested.
Spears, in her post, penned an apology note and wrote, “I wanna apologise for some of the things I wrote about in my book. If I offended any of the people I genuinely care about, I am deeply sorry.”
The pop singer further went on to shower praise on Timberlake’s new song Selfish and wrote, “I also wanted to say I am in love with Justin Timberlake’s new song ‘Selfish.’ It is soo good and how come every time I see Justin and Jimmy together I laugh so hard ??? Ps ‘Sanctified’ is wow too.”

At a time when Spears’ fans have been holding an old vendetta against Timberlake, it was seen reignited time and again up late. Following the social media backlash that Timberlake faced due to the Toxic singer’s controversial memoir, he once again became a target of trolling after releasing his newest track, Selfish. Spears released a song with the same title back in 2011, prompting her fans to campaign to get her Selfish track higher than Timberlake’s new single.
Britney Spears, who dated the NSync singer for four long years, from 1999 to 2002, in her autobiography “The Woman In Me” revealed that she had an abortion during their relationship.
“Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young. It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father,” a part of the memoir read.
