Bobby Deol also talks about how OTT platforms have given actors an opportunity to experiment with their roles so that people can take notice of their talent.

Actor Bobby Deol, who has been grabbing headlines ever since his smashing portrayal of Abrar Haque in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, has opened up about the “dark side” of Bollywood, where everyone tries to “brainwash” actors. In a recent interview, Bobby spoke about how OTT platforms gave him an opportunity to try something new and get out of his “comfort zone”.

Speaking to Zoom/Times Now.com, Bobby said, “Sometimes you get lost, sometimes because of all the way the industry is reacting to you, you start choosing the more easy and secure path to move forward. You don’t want to take challenges, you don’t want to put yourself in a situation which is out of your comfort zone, because somewhere everybody brainwashes you. But that’s what happens, that’s something that is sad that happens to actors.”

Talking about how he deals with it, the actor said, “I luckily realised that and I wanted to get out of it. And a lot of actors try doing that, but they still haven’t been able to manage it. But I have. And now things have changed. I think OTT platform gives every actor an opportunity to try doing different kinds of characters so that people can notice that they have the side to them which they enjoyed after they watched it because they never got the chance to show that side of an actor of themselves doing it.”

Earlier, in an interview with the Times of India, Bobby Deol opened up about the emotional aspect of his family. He emphasised his belief that tears of happiness are a natural and understandable reaction to accomplishing something significant after putting in considerable effort.

Expanding on his thoughts, Bobby shared, “I think my whole family is extremely emotional. All Deol men cry. We are not embarrassed about it. It is an emotion that is just there. I think everybody cries, it’s just that most don’t talk about it. The Deols are emotional people, and we are happy to be that way.”
