Tamil cinema star Prashanth is appearing in the film Andhagan, portraying the role of a blind pianist. The highly anticipated release revolves around his character getting involved in an actor’s murder, and the power play that ensues. Released last Friday, let us take a look at the film’s third day collection and how it is faring at the box-office. Going by the reports, the first day collection of the film was estimated to be RS 65 lakh, while its day two saw a considerable rise in numbers. According to the website Sacnilk, the film collected around Rs 1.15 core on Saturday, the second day, up by 76.92 per cent. On its third day, a Sunday, the film was able to mint Rs 1.25 crore, which is an increase of 8.70 percent from the previous day. So, the total box-office collection of the release currently stands at Rs 3.15 crore.
Andhagan is dubbed as a black-comedy crime thriller, made under the direction of Thiagarajan, who is also credited as its screenplay writer. The film is led by actor Prashanth, who is sharing the screen space with names like Simran, Priya Anand, Karthik, Samuthirakani, Urvashi, Yogi Babu and many others. It is produced by Shanthi Thiagarajan and Preethi Thiagarajan under the banner of Staar Movies. The music in the film is given by Santhosh Narayanan, Ravi Yadav has done the cinematography and the editor is Sathish Suriya. Andhagan was theatrically released on August 9.
The film is an official remake of the Bollywood release, Andhadhun, which is directed by Sriram Raghavan and was released in 2018. It starred Ayushmann Khurrana as the lead, along with an ensemble cast of Radhika Apte, Tabu and Anil Dhawan. It is produced under the banners of Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Matchbox Pictures.
Prashanth is set to appear in the Thalapathy Vijay-starrer The Greatest Of All Time. It is directed by Venkat Prabhu and is set to release in September this year.
