Ex Bigg Boss contestant Hina Khan, who carved her place as one of the most fashionable contestants of the reality television show, says that it was a conscious decision to not repeat clothes during her stay in the house. "It wasn't about nightwear, it was about wearing different clothes. I don't know what went in to my mind and I decided I don't want to repeat things in Bigg Boss. I did my bit and it kind of worked out for me. It was a wise decision to do what I did," she said.
On being asked if there was a particular reason for deciding to do so, the actor responded saying that's how she is. "A lot of people tell me that I’ve this La La Land where I live. I want to live the way I want to, I want to dress up the way I want to. So it just came in my mind that I’m not repeating clothes, so I’m not repeating clothes," she said.
"Vikas used to call me Pooh sometimes, you’re like one Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham ki Pooh- repeat nahi karungi clothes," she added.
Hina, who has participated in another reality television show, Khatron Ke Khiladi, before Bigg Boss 11 felt that it was only the latter which gave her a platform to try on different looks, saying, "Bigg Boss gave me a chance to show my fashion side. First Khatron, but Khatron was more of a sporty kind of a show. Most of the time we used to wear sporty clothes. But Bigg Boss for that matter gave me a bigger platform where I could show people that we can look different, dress differently and it can look good on us."
Having played the lead role in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Hina feels it is not easy to break the stereotype image of a bahu. "I've done the longest running show in television and to breaking the stereotype is just not easy. It's impossible. I think I'm the only one in television who has done a show for 8 long years, breaking that stereotype image and becoming a style icon, I wouldn't say I'm a style icon. There are many girls and many actors in television who dress well and look good. If I can match up to them, it is difficult," she said.
She further noted that being a style icon comes with its pressure, saying, "Every time you have to do something different and that's okay, I'm all prepared for it. I myself as a person want to dress up differently so that's okay."
The TV actor walked the ramp for designer label OSAA by Adarsh on day 2 of the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018 and shared that it was honor to turn a showstopper. "I feel on top of the world. I love Adarsh's collection, it is very different and unique. Every piece in itself is very unique," she said.
