LFW 2018: When Shahid-Mira Turned Bride and Groom For Anita Dongre's Fairytale Wedding
Amid candlelit seating and floral surroundings, the much-in-love couple turned bride and groom for the fashion auteur Anita Dongre who showcased her collection titled Songs Of Summer.

"Mira looks as beautiful today as she looked that day. And maybe we could have got married again today," said Shahid Kapoor after making a beguiling entry on the ramp, or on the lush green grassy lawn to be precise, with wife Mira Rajput Kapoor for Anita Dongre's show on day 1 of the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018.

Amid candlelit seating and floral surroundings, the much-in-love couple turned bride and groom for the fashion auteur who showcased her collection titled Songs Of Summer. The two made their couple-debut on the ramp hand-in-hand and didn't let go off each other throughout the show. They swirled, shared sweet-nothings, looked in each other's eyes and eventually turned the summer wedding into a romantic fairy tale of sorts.

For Dongre, it was a dream, as the designer revealed that from the moment she designed the bridal outfit, she'd only pictured it on Mira and no one else. From divine whites to pastel shades to muted tones of sage, the collection breezed like a soothing treat to sore eyes with model sashaying down from four aisles. With pleated midi skirts, wrap tops, crop tops, long-line jackets, jumpsuits, light-weight lehengas- the traditional and contemporary era came together as the two souls in love walked to the tunes of live music.

While Mira was dressed in a floral lehenga-choli, Shahid made a handsome groom in an organic cotton cream bandh-gala. On being asked if he likes Mira more in traditional or Western wear, the actor was quick to respond saying he likes her regardless of what she wears. "It's very important for men to understand that women should wear what they feel comfortable in and we should support them. It's very tiring for a woman to always think about what the guy thinks and other way round too."

"We've to accept each other for who we are that's the only reason for us to make us work because we're from very different backgrounds. She likes me for who I am and I like her for who she is, so whatever she wears, it's awesome," he said smilingly.

Given that it was Mira's first time turning a showstopper, she admitted she was nervous and fearful of tripping on her dress. "I have to be honest, I did ask Shahid that I hope I wouldn't fall. Everyone walks with so much attitude and they've been doing it for so many years, obviously, I was really nervous but I knew I was in safe hands."

"The moment we stepped on the ramp, I just looked at him and said all the best but I needed all the luck," as Mira continued to share her nervousness, Shahid termed her a natural.

While it's been a while since Shahid was last seen on a runway, it was Mira, who convinced him for the night. "Anita is Mira's dear friend and I'm her dear husband," he quipped while explaining how things panned out in the first place.

Both Shahid and Mira were all praises for Dongre and her design aesthetics. "Anita is synonymous with beautiful designs, that are modern and at the same time, extremely traditional. What you wear is light and it makes you feel beautiful. It's so easy to walk for the first time and I knew I wasn't going to fall in these clothes," shared Mira.

The five-day fashion extravaganza, being held in Mumbai, will conclude on 4th February.
