South Korean stars Han So Hee and Ryu Jun Yeol confirmed their split on March 30, just two weeks after they made their relationship public. Amid a plethora of controversies, Ryu Jun Yeol’s representative confirmed the news and said, “We ask for your understanding as we have nothing else to say except to confirm the breakup.” Following the duo’s decision to call it quits, they are now reported to have been removed from their upcoming film project Hyun Hok.
In a statement shared by production company Showbox, it was confirmed that both the actors are no longer in consideration for its new project. The statement read, “It is true that Han So Hee and Ryu Jun Yeol were in discussions to appear in the film. However, we have ended those discussions because their appearances were not confirmed.”
Following the statement by the production company, Ryu Jun Yeol’s agency C-JeS Studio also confirmed that the K-drama actor will no longer be a part of the upcoming project. The actor’s agency said, “Ryu Jun Yeol feels responsible for what happened recently and agreed to end the negotiations as he does not want the work to feel any repercussions after what happened.”
Previously, Han So Hee and Ryu Jun Yeol confirmed their relationship on March 15, 2024, after the former opened up on the beginning of their romantic involvement in a blog post. Following So Hee’s post and the former couple’s sighting together in Hawaii, Ryu Jun Yeol’s ex-girlfriend Hyeri posted a cryptic Instagram Story with the caption “Funny”. Her post sparked speculations that the comment was directed towards the duo’s relationship.
Han So Hee indirectly responded to Hyeri’s post with a long Instagram post early on March 29. The post included the remarks that were intended to be made for Hyeri while also explaining her relationship with Ryu Jun Yeol. Clarifying that it was not “transfer love,” Han So Hee wrote in her post, “What I don’t understand is that I want to ask [Hyeri] what was so funny about the fact that her ex got a new girlfriend.”
However, she removed the message later and apologised to Hyeri for her “impatient personality.”
