San Francisco: Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg becomes the youngest member of the California Hall of Fame on Tuesday when the state museum in Sacramento also honours singer Barbra Streisand, Titanic filmmaker James Cameron and others.

Outgoing Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife Maria Shriver created the Hall of Fame, now in its fifth year, and have loaded it up with Hollywood and Silicon Valley stars as well as men and women who helped build the Golden State.

In that vein, this year bluejeans creator Levi Strauss, who opened his first store in San Francisco, will be inducted and Governor-elect Jerry Brown is expected to accept an award on behalf of his father, former Governor Pat Brown, who built highways, water systems and the state's higher education system.

Actress Betty White, venture capitalists John Doerr and tennis star Serena Williams also are among the 14 to be awarded along with Zuckerberg, 26, whose social networking website has become a global phenomenon.

The ceremony takes place at the California Museum, which also will exhibit mementos from the winners.
