Youth arrested for attempting to rape 78-year-old woman

Fatehgarh Sahib: A youth was arrested on Friday for allegedly trying to rape an elderly woman in Fatehgarh Sahib when she had gone to attend the nature's call.

Avtar Singh, a resident of Dadheri village, attempted to rape the 78-year-old of the same village on Thursday, police said.

An FIR under relevant Sections of the IPC was lodged against him at the Mandi Gobindgarh police station on a complaint by victim's relative, they said.
