BANGALORE: Shandilya Institute of Nurturing Excellence (SHINE) is organising 60 free personality development workshops for teachers and students of Thoppaganahalli in Kanakapura Taluk on September 11.The workshops will be inaugurated by D K Shivakumar, Kanakapura MLA along with chief guests Dr V S Acharya, higher education minister.Visveswara Hegde Kageri, primary and secondary education minister and Ramachandra Gowda, deputy chairman, State Planning Board will be present .Addressing the issue G N Sheshadri, Director SHINE, said, “This initiative is to make the village a model for all others in the state .The prime focus of the workshops will be on techniques such as goal setting, time management, spiritual development and promotion of patriotism.” Established in 1996, SHINE has trained over 3 lakh people through more than 3000 programmes.“Self-confidence is what makes people successful,” said Sheshadri.The programme is focused on rural students as they are devoid of opportunities, he added.The workshops are free and the only remuneration he expects is students becoming model citizens of the nation.
