Muzaffarnagar: An unidentified woman, with her face covered in red, left a newborn girl at the staircase of a house in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district.
According to the footage from a CCTV camera, a grey Santro car arrived in the narrow lane of a locality and stopped outside a house, following which a person leaned out of the window and dropped the baby at the staircase before fleeing the spot.
A Kotwali Police Station officer said on Thursday that prima facie it appears that the accused was a woman with her face covered with red dupatta. From the blurred image, it seems that the car bears a Haryana number plate (HR).
