Mumbai: After a day-long drama of Shiv Sena, the party is in no mood to relent and has called Sudheendra Kulkarni an agent of Pakistan. The Shiv Sena attacked Chairman of Observer and Research Foundation Sudheendra Kulkarni for organising former Pakistan foreign minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri's book launch in Mumbai.
Calling Kulkarni an embarrassment for BJP, Sena in a hard-hitting editorial in party's mouthpiece Saamna said that with people like Sudheendra Kulkarni present in India, Pakistan need not bother sending those like Ajmal Kasab.
Ajmal Kasab was the lone convict in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack case and was hanged to death in Yerwada Prison.
The article also attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party and said that Kulkarni was the man behind cash-for-votes sting which embarrassed the party and alleged that as an aide to senior leader LK Advani he was responsible for Mohammad Ali Jinnah fiasco.
On Monday morning, Kulkarni was attacked by Shiv Sena activists who threw black paint at him and smeared his face with paint outside his residence. "Sainiks attacked me outside my home. Around 8 to 10 Shiv Sena activists came home and right as I was leaving black paint was smeared all over my face. I was abused by them," said Kulkarni.
In an attempt to the attack, Sena had said that this was just a soft attack and it will continue such attacks as long as Pakistan is honoured in India. "This is not ink but the blood of our soldier. The ink attack is just a soft reaction on Kulkarni," said Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut.
Kasuri attended the launch of his book 'Neither a Hawk nor a Dove: An Insider's Account of Pakistan's Foreign Policy' at 5.30 PM in Worli area on Monday.
