Coronation Bridge or the Sevoke Roadway Bridge was constructed during the British regime in 1937 on the Sevoke Hill Station in West Bengal. According to Local 18 Bengal, this bridge spans across the Teesta River and is always bustling with tourists. As per Local18, many tourists visit the bridge and enjoy the serene natural beauty.
One spectacular feature of the Coronation Bridge is its construction on a reinforced concrete system. This system implies that concrete in which steel is embedded in such a manner that the two materials act together in resisting forces. When tourists arrive on this bridge, they will see the mountains surrounded by greenery. This river flows through the mountains at its speed.
Tourists constantly flock to this coronation bridge to enjoy the amazing beauty of the Teesta River. The Coronation Bridge is also known as the Bagh Pool meaning tiger bridge. It is because of the two Tiger statues at one entrance of the bridge, Baghpool. Many devotees come from far and wide to offer puja at Sevoke Bazar Kali Bari and Shiv mandir. As per the Siliguri Times, the then Governor of Bengal, John Anderson, laid the foundation stone of the Coronation Bridge in 1937. The construction of the bridge was completed at Rs 4 lakh.
