HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) expressed its readiness to face byelections if required in the wake of mass resignations by MLAs owing allegiance to YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday.Insiders feel that the TDP' interest to face the byelections will help the party on two counts. The anti-graft campaign in the state, for which Naidu became a poster boy, will have any impact on the voters. Second, the party can also assess the actual strength of the YSR Congress party in Andhra region, before going for the big battle in 2014.The MLAs resigned to protest the inclusion of late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's name in the CBI's FIR in the Jagan assets probe.TDP is also of the view that whether submitting resignations amounts to contempt of court. The CBI was acting as per the directions of the High Court and protesting against court's direction amounts to contempt, the TDP leadership opined.Naidu held a meeting with party senior leaders here on Monday to take stock of the political situation arising out of the mass resignations by pro-Jagan MLAs.Speaking to reporters later, Naidu said: "We are prepared for any eventuality. We are analysing the political developments.'' Asked whether TDP would move a no-trust motion against Kiran Kumar Reddy government, Naidu said: "TDP will continue its fight against both YSRC and the Congress. We will continue our fight against corruption in politics. All the corrupt people should be punished. The Congress is the source of corruption. YSRC is just a branch of the Congress," Naidu said.Naidu will participate in a rally against corruption in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday, while TDP leaders would stage a dharna near Indira Park in the city.
