Lokayukta police have recovered 150 grams of gold and silver ornaments as well as property-related documents from the bank locker of suspended Joint Commissioner (Revenue) Ravi Kant Dwivedi's son.
The Madhya Pradesh government had last week suspended Dwivedi after he was found in possession of assets worth around Rs 70 crore, suspected to be acquired through corrupt means.
Sources in the Lokayukta police said that they had information that in the income-tax returns filed by him, Ravi Kant had made no mention of the 25 properties belonging to him and had mentioned only 11 properties. The locker at Shahpura branch of Grameen Bank, opened were in the name of Ravi Kant's son Ankit Dwivedi, they said.
The dowry received by Ankit during his wedding has also been included in the list of assets owned by his father, they said.
Dwivedi had been suspended following the raids conducted by the Lokayukta police last week at his residence. He had joined the service as Deputy Collector in 1987 and was posted at various places including Datia, among others.
