New Delhi: The Delhi High Court is scheduled to hear the bail plea of Vikas Yadav, prime accused in the Nitish Katara murder case on Wednesday.
The matter came up for hearing on Wednesday before Justice B N Chaturvedi following the change of roaster. Justice Chaturvedi, however, referred the case to Justice A K Sikri as he was hearing the matter of the bail petition earlier.
On January 2, Justice Sikri had summoned the trial court records pertaining to the testimony of accused Vikas's sister Bharati Yadav, who is also a key witness in the case.
The court's direction came following the prosecution's claim that Bharati was having an affair with the deceased Nitish Katara.
In February 2002, Katara was killed allegedly by Vikas and his cousin Vishal as they did not like Bharti's intimacy with the deceased.
