New Delhi: Veteran stage actor, Jayanta Das paased away in the capital on Wednesday after battling pancreatic cancer for nearly two years.
The actor is best remembered for his role in Shoojit Sircar's 'Vicky Donor' where he played Yami Gautam's father. Das, 66, was last seen onscreen playing an Army General in Sircar's 'Madras Café'.
A popular face in Delhi theater circuit, Das gained popularity for his work in various Bengali plays in the capital in the past three decades. Having worked with Amal Allana and Habib Tanvir, Das had also started his theater group called 'Nabodoy Goshti'.
Das worked on the big screen only in Shoojit Sircar's film. He was part of Sircar's 'Yahaan' and 'Udaan' as well. He also did a few TV shows, but theater remained his first love.
