Van driver arrested for murder

CHENNAI: On suspicion that his wife was having an extra-marital affair, Murugan, a 35-year-old van driver, allegedly murdered Balamurugan, a mechanic. Later, Murugan was arrested by the suburban police.Police said that Balamurugan (28) was in his place of work at Periya Street, Kundrathur when Murugan who lived in the same area arrived there and picked up a fight with Balamurugan. In the altercation that followed, Murugan reportedly slit the mechanic’s throat. He died on the way to hospital.It was later learnt that Murugan’s wife Mythili, who worked in an export company had an illicit relationship with Balamurugan, whose workplace was close to Mythili’s.
