New Delhi: The son of a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA from Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday opened fire after an altercation at a Delhi cafe.
Vivek Singh, son of Sardana MLA Chandraveer Singh, accompanied by his wife and sister went to Delhi's upmarket Mocha Bar in Nehru Place on Wednesday afternoon to reportedly look for a wallet lost on Tuesday night.
Singh allegedly opened fired following a quarrel between her sister Manisha and the bar staff over the lost wallet. The bullet missed the security guard of the bar and hit the wall.
He fled from the spot after the firing incident but later in the evening surrendered before the police.
Delhi Police have registered a case of attempt to murder. Police also recovered the weapon of offence from Singh.
The women had reportedly returned to the bar to retrieve a wallet lost on Tuesday night.
Police have detained both the women for questioning.
It was only Manisha who had gone inside the bar and got involved in the argument.
Singh's wife was in the car during the entire incident.
