In connection with the Ganesh idol immersion on September 29, A.P. Central Power Distribution Company Limited (APCPDCL) has made necessary arrangements to provide uninterrupted power supply at the immersion locations in Greater Hyderabad.
Mobile distribution transformers in and around tank bund of Hussainsagar lake and also enroute procession have been arranged for safe passage of Ganesh idols in the Greater Hyderabad area.
The immersion points include Hussainsagar, Miralam Tank, Hashmatpet , Alwal, Dugam cheruvu, Saroornagar, Rajanna bowli, IDL, Gangaram, Pragathinagar, Suraram Cheruvu, Vennalagadda, Medchal, Shameerpet, Perika, Saroornagar, Vinayaknagar Safilguda, Kapra, Rampally Dayara, Keesara, Edulabad, Palle, Kamuni, Pattikunta where special arrangements were made.
The existing 100 KVA DTRs nearby Hussainsagar and at other immersion points viz.
Marriot Hotel, Punjabi Sabha, Kattamaisamma temple, snoworld, booster pump house, dumping yard, Dhobhighat, Goshala, Amberdkar Bhawan, Hyderabad Expo City, Ashoknagar water pumphouse, MRO office, Bharat Seva samaj, Jaladrussyam, BRK Bhawan and Mint Compound were replaced with 315/500 KVA DTRs.
Two 315 KVA mobile transformers are arranged at Minister’s road and at Alwal lake and 500 KVA DTRs at Miralam tank, Saroornagar tank and Rajanna bowli have been arranged, in addition to the mobile transformers.
Temporary supply points for flood lights have been setup at various locations around Hussainsagar lake (from Budha Bhawan, MG road to Viceroy hotel), Hashmatpet lake and Durgam cheruvu.
Besides these, a diesel generator was arranged at NTR Marg/Tank bund to provide street lighting in case of emergency. Power supply is being monitored by the officials from the camp offices situated at NTR marg and Tank bund round-the-clock.
Uninterrupted power supply is being monitored under the supervision of directors and chief general managers, superintending engineers, DEs, engineers and O&M Staff of the city circles who would be working round-the-clock in shifts.
Electricity control room on Hussainsagar tank bund (with telephone numbers 94913-99961, 94405-78419 and 040-23432099) was opened on Thursday.
CPDCL appealed all the pandal organisers and public to follow the safety precautions to avoid accidents due to electricity and also urged the staff to ensure uninterrupted quality power supply during the immersion.
CPDCL appealed people to follow safety precautions suggesting that children should not come close and climb the power lines/poles.
It also cautioned not to throw objects on the power lines which could cause short circuits and snapping of conductor and not to meddle with the overhead power lines while moving with the idols and never climb electricity poles, for electricity connections.
In case of emergency, contact APCPDCL staff for attending to any electrical connections and never touch a person who is in contact with live power lines.
