KOZHIKODE: Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan on Wednesday said that the slain leader T P Chandrasekharan was not a traitor. He was commenting on Pinarayi Vijayan’s remark that the RMP leader was a traitor (Kulamkuthi). VS told reporters here: It is only Vijayan’s view and not the party’s. “T P Chandrasekharan is not a traitor. Those who leave the party should be brought back to the fold in a good way. They should be brought back by explaining the ideologies and stand of the party. If they are not ready to come back they should be allowed to function independently,” added Achuthanandan. VS was in the city to address a protest rally at the Calicut University.“Like M V Raghavan and K R Gowri, who floated separate parties, anybody can float a party. There are many big, small and medium parties in Kerala,” he said. He agreed with the CPI stand that the underworld culture does not go with Marxist values. A thorough investigation should be conducted into Chandrasekharan’s murder and the culprits should be brought to light, VS added.
