A demonstration was held at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Monday to express solidarity with people of Tibet.
Carrying placards, the protesters alleged violation of human rights in Tibet and demanded that India raise the issue with China to ensure justice to people in the Himalayan region. "We expect support from Asian countries mainly from India to help Tibetan people. We want India government to raise the issue with China so that Tibetans get basic fundamental rights," said N K Trikha, National Convener of Core Group for Tibetan Cause.
Coordinator of Indo-Tibet coordination group Tsering Chonzom alleged that basic fundamental rights have been denied to people of Tibet and said the fight for justice will continue.
Citing economic marginalisation, unemployment, loss of livelihood as some of the dificulties faced by Tibetans, the protesters said they want a "middle-way" policy to solve "problems".
