BANGALORE: Narrating their story of escape from their homeland, Tibet - a group of Tibetan students residing in Bangalore took out a cycle rally in the city to further their cause of saving their parents who are being tortured by the Chinese Government back home. They recalled their stories and explained the hardships that they went through while escaping as refugees.“We are demanding that a UNHRC office is set up in Tibet to supervise Human Rights conditions there.” said Gyaltsen, a student activist.Another student said, “I was 10 years old when I escaped Tibet in the year 1999. I failed in my first two attempts. In my third attempt I successfully crossed to Nepal. Over 6,000 such children try to escape from Tibet  but most get caught and are imprisoned,” said Tenzin Dolma, another student. The student activists further explained that China is currently paying Nepalese police prize money for                         each refugee caught and                  sent back. “We request the International community to set up a refugee camp across the Chinese border in Nepal to house all Tibetans who have escaped,” said Lugeon Kyab, another student. Their cycle rally hosted the slogan, ‘Save Tibet before its too late’.
