CHENNAI: Three AIADMK men were assaulted by suspected Popular Front of India (PFI) activists at Triplicane on Sunday night.A senior police official told Express that Selva Kumar (52), a resident of Devaraj Mudali Street in Zam Bazaar and area secretary of Jayalalithaa Peravai, was at his office on Sunday. Along with him were Dolak Babu (40), area secretary of the AIADMK minority wing, and ‘Poster’ Prakash (32). On Sunday, a public meeting organised by the Popular Front of India was held in the locality. After the meeting, around 11 pm, a car that was leaving the venue brushed past a motorbike parked before Kumar’s office. When Kumar questioned the action, it led to a verbal altercation, the police said.After 45 minutes, a group of 15-20 men, suspected to be PFI activists, arrived there and attacked Kumar and Babu, injuring them on the head. Prakash also sustained minor injuries. The attackers then escaped.The police registered cases and are on the lookout for the culprits.
