Mumbai: The World Cup Football fever is not just restricted to the field. A bookstore in Mumbai has a special relationship with the beautiful game.
The Marine Sports bookstore in Dadar is almost blink-n-miss, but what is impossible to miss, once you're in it, is its dedicated section to sports books - especially football.
Everyone goes ga-ga about cricket but football, especially every four years, finds a special place at this shop.
Owner, The Marine Sports Bookstore, Theo Braganza says, "We published a book in 1998 on the World Cup for Tata Steel and we did very well. The book was a history of football from 1932 to 1998."
In the past, the store has sold up to 5000 copies of football books in one season and many more during the World Cup.
However, Braganza, who also publishes books, has one lament this year.
"I didn't realise that no one was publishing a book on football this year or I would have definitely planned a book. But the planning would have had to be done three months prior to the World Cup."
Braganza's personal favourite is the book on Pele. However, this year, the book on David Beckham will probably outsell Braganza's all-time favourite book.
