Terrorists' escape behind constable suicide?
Kursom Sangma was facing action in connection with the escape of the terrorists.

New Delhi: A 32-year-old constable of Meghalaya Police deployed in the national capital allegedly committed suicide in Delhi due to unknown reasons, police said

on Wednesday.

Kursom Sangma, a resident of West Garo Hills, was found hanging behind the mess of his battalion based in west Delhi's Vikaspuri by his colleagues around 6.50 a.m. (IST), Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Sharad Aggarwal said.

A senior police official said that Sangma allegedly hanged himself in the night. The reason for which he took the extreme step could not be ascertained as he did not leave a suicide note.

Sangma was earlier deployed in the Lampoor deportation centre where three Pakistani terrorists, who were to be deported escaped from their custody, were put up by

authorities. The terrorists escaped from a city hospital.

He was working at the deportation centre during the time of terrorists escaping from a city hospital, the official said adding he was later shifted to its arms repository unit.

Asked whether Sangma was facing action in connection with the escape of the terrorists, Aggarwal said he was not aware of this. Sangma's brother is also working with Meghalaya Police.

D M Singh, the Sub Inspector of Meghalaya Police who was escorting the terrorists, has been put under suspension for "dereliction of duty" and a departmental inquiry initiated against him. Singh alone had taken them for medical check-up.
