Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir government is in the process of preparing a vision document to make a comprehensive assessment of all potential areas for development of tourism in the state through Tata Management Consultancy Service.
"The tourism department is in the process of preparing a Vision Document to make a comprehensive assessment of all potential areas for development of tourism in the state through Tata Management Consultancy Service", Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed, who is also state Tourism Minister, said in a written reply in J&K Assembly on Tuesday.
"The vision document would contain details of potential untapped areas of the state", Mufti said. The areas with potential of development of tourism like Buffliaz, Noorichamb, Behramgala of Surankote constituency have already been brought on the tourism map of state and constitute as famous tourist places of Surankote consistency, the CM said.
"The entire area from Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch is being developed under Mega tourist circuit with a project cost of Rs 688 lakhs", he added. "An amount of Rs 133.82 lakh has been allocated for development of tourist related infrastructure in Surankote constituency during year 2013-14 against which an amount of Rs 118.82 lakh stand spent as on date", he said.
