Taliban claims Kutty?s death
A Taliban spokesman Qari Mohammed Yousaf revealed the exact location of the body to a news agency in a satellite phone conversation.

Kandahar: According to the information given by the Kandahar police, a body found dumped in a desert in southern Afghanistan is believed to be that of Indian driver M R Kutty, who the Taliban had earlier claimed to have kidnapped and killed.

"Villagers found the body of Kutty, which had almost been decapitated, in Nimroze province's Dilaram district," police chief Bahdur Khan said.

"The body does not look Afghan. It looks Indian. We think it is the hostage's body," he added.

"The body found is of the Indian driver. He has been slaughtered, his throat has been cut," said Mohammed Hashim Noorzai, governor of Khashroad district in the southwestern province of Nimroze.

Taliban spokesman Qari Mohammed Yousaf revealed the exact location of the body to an international news agency in a satellite phone conversation.

This matched the information Bahadur Khan gave out to the media.

Qari Mohammed Yousaf has been the only source of information on Kutty's situation.

He was the one who first informed the international news agencies that Kutty has been kidnapped and mentioned about the deadline.

On Tuesday he called the news agencies and said that Kutty has been killed since the Indian government did not respond to Taliban's demands.

On Wednesday morning, he gave out the location of what he claimed was Kutty's body.
