Jalandhar: Not quite ready to throw in the towel, 'The Great Khali' on Tuesday responded to Olympian Palwinder Singh Cheema's challenge to a wrestling bout, saying he should take on 'Undertaker' or Batista to end US domination in WWE.
"If he (Cheema) really wants to throw a challenge, he should take on Undertaker or Batista and challenge the monopoly of the US in World Wrestling Entertainment. I am just like his brother; what will he or I get out of fighting each other," the 35-year-old whose real name is Daleep Singh Rana said.
The 7 feet 3, 190-kg Khali, who recently defeated Undertaker to lift the heavyweight crown in the WWE circuit, was challenged by Cheema to a wrestling match shortly after he arrived in India from the US a fortnight ago.
An Arjuna awardee, 'Rustam-e-Hind' and Commonwealth gold medalist who stands 6 ft 5 in and weighs 125 kg, Cheema had said the match should be held in accordance with FILA rules.
Attending a function at Punjab Armed Police here in his honour, Assistant Sub-Inspector Rana said he would continue to work with the state force.
"I always want to continue my job with Punjab Police, which has contributed a lot to my career. After my leave, I will come back and join the state force unless they throw me out," Khali said.
