New Delhi: Former Delhi Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana stood isolated on Wednesday, as his key supporters in the Delhi BJP stood beside party chief Rajnath Singh during a road blockade over petrol price increase in his Moti Nagar constituency.
Former Delhi minister H S Balli and party MLA Subhash Sachdeva joined in the BJP's protest demonstration, barely metres away from Khurana's residence in Kirti Nagar in West Delhi.
Known Khurana loyalists Balli and Sachdeva heaped praise on Delhi BJP chief Harsh Vardhan for his leadership skills.
Harsh Vardhan had suspended the former Chief Minister for joining expelled leader Uma Bharti's rally in March.
They also praised Delhi Assembly Opposition Leader Jagdish Mukhi and senior party leader V K Malhotra for their role in the party protest against the court-ordered demolition and sealing drives in Delhi.
Their presence alongside the BJP leadership at the road blockade showed clear signs that the party had little room left for Khurana despite former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's recent remarks that the organisation had its doors still open for him and Bharti.
