CHENNAI: The First Bench of the Madras High Court has called for the report of the Village Administrative Officer and Tahsildar, who conducted an inspection on the clash between Mutharayars and Dalits at Paralipudur village in Dindigul district on February 13.The clash had resulted in considerable loss of goods and cattle. The VAO and Tahsildar made a detailed enquiry and estimated the loss at Rs 6.47 lakh. Bench comprising Chief Justice MY Eqbal and Justice TS Sivagnanam gave a direction to this effect while passing interim orders on a writ petition from advocate P Pugalenthi, on July 8.Directing the government to produce the report before it, the bench adjourned the matter by two weeks.Consider previous service for seniority The managing director of TN State Transport Corporation in Coimbatore is directed by the Madrs HC to consider the individual representation dated March 2 last of GS Navaneethakrishnan and 24 others seeking inclusion of their previous service for seniority, promotion, PF and pension purposes.Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar directed the petitioners to send copies of their representations along with a copy of this order to the MD, within two weeks. The MD should consider the same and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within four months thereafter, the judge added.
