Srisailam getting heavy inflows

KURNOOL: With heavy inflows from upstream, the water-level in Srisailam project has reached 860.70 feet against the maximum of 885 feet.The water in the reservoir is gradually increasing everyday, for the last one week, due to heavy rains in the catchment areas in Karnataka and Maharashtra.On Friday evening, officials said that there was an inflow of 67,780 cusecs of water.Project AE Sudhir Babu said that major quantity of the water flowing into the reservoir was from Jurala project.There is 151.9824 tmcft of water in the reservoir against its capacity of 263.6340 tmcft. Officials said that they would open the dam gates in a couple of days if the inflow continued to be in the same manner.
