Gwalior: A teenaged girl who was raped by an unidentified man in Gwalior on Wednesday succumbed to her injuries in the district hospital on Thursday.
Shocked residents of Tansen Nagar had to block traffic for over two hours to push the police into action.
According to her parents, the six-year-old girl had gone to get her father?s clothes ironed when she was picked up by accused.
The victim managed to walk back to her home only after the accused let her
Go.
Seeing that the girl was profusely bleeding her parents thought she had met with an accident before she narrated her ordeal to her grandmother.
The victim was rushed to the hospital and was operated upon but couldn?t be saved.
Doctors said that her insides were all torn.
The victim?s grandmother, Bhagvati, accused Budha, the man who ironed clothes, of abetting the rape.
"My grand daughter was sitting at Buddha?s shop when another man came to the shop and asked her to ?accompany him?. When she refused he drew a knife and forced her to an isolated place where he raped her."
The police have arrested Budha and have registered a case.
They have also announced a reward of Rs 5000 for providing a clue about the rapist.
