TIRUPUR: Six persons, including four women, committed suicide in a single day on Thursday across the district owing to various disputes.According to police, Dhanalakshmi (24), a native of Madurai district, who was married to Muthaiah a year ago and settled in Tirupur as garment unit worker, had disputes over family issues. On Thursday, when Dhanalakshmi was alone at home in Kumar Nagar she committed suicide by hanging. Similarly Sathya (25), wife of Manikandan of VOC Nagar at Kumar Nagar here, on Thursday ended her life because of severe stomach pain for the past few years. In another incident Poongodi (26), wife of Surendar of Kumaranthapuram, set fire to herself at her home following dispute with her husband. She was admitted at Tirupur GH. However she succumbed to her burns. The Tirupur North police registered a cases regarding all the three incidents.Meanwhile Angammal (50), wife of Arumugam of Poorandampalayam, committed suicide over some family dispute. The Kamanaikenpalayam police registered a case. A youth, who was addicted to liquor committed suicide near Tirupur following a family dispute. On Thursday, Karthikeyan (18), son of Arasu of Sirupooluvapatti, committed suicide by hanging due to disputes with his family members. The Anuparpalayam police investigating on it.
